The use of 3D White Light Scanners in Cosmetics Testing and Dermatology

  The Breuckmann FaceSCAN and DermaTOP-blue optical measuring systems are on the leading edge of measurement technology in cosmetics efficancy testing and dermatological applications.

  Breuckmann’s in vivo 3D white light scanner, dermaTOP-blue, is specifically optimized for dermatological and cosmetic applications for precise and comparative measurement and examination of the microstructure of human skin without the need of replicas to obtain detailed skin topography. 
  A target window is used to determine the location which will be measured as an eye bag zone. This zone is drawn like half a circle and positioned in the center of the image to be automatically extracted later.  This can help in repositioning as this area is superimposed to the live image for each acquisition.
  The visualization and analysis is performed by the OptoCAT software, in combination with dedicated macros.
Wrinkles - Up Close and Personal

  The Breuckmann in vivo 3D white light scanner, dermaTOP-blue, is specially optimized for dermatological and cosmetic applications in the obtaining of precise non-contact measurement and examination of human skin topography without the need of replicas.  The positioning bench positions models in a manner which is readily reproducible to the sensor.  A blue light source provides improved contrast and less penetration of the skin which results in improved clarity and resolution in the 3D data.

HYDRATION AND AGING EVALUATION

  In the fields of cosmetics and dermatology, a need exists to employ optical measuring in order to perform accurate and rapid 3D analysis of human faces and human skin through the use of non-contact fringe projection measurement.  The use of a blue LED as a light source allows the representation of the skin structure with optimal contrast.  This guarantees a still more reliable analysis of the skin roughness and other characteristic paramters of the skin.  The DermaTOP system is ideal for cosmetic efficacy tests.

  The visualization and analysis is performed by Breuckmann OptoCAT software.
